Children train in the same system, in the same room, to the same standard, as every student who has trained at this dojo.

Teenagers get treated as capable. The training is demanding and the expectations are clear, which is usually the point for anyone who walks in at this age.

You do not need any experience to start. We welcome students of any skill level, starting from zero. Zen Goju Temple is a fighting school. Friday classes also teach conditioning and grappling.

- Aiki JuJutsu
- Wrestling, judo and self-defense techniques alongside the JuJutsu. Adults and teens.
- MMA
- All ages, Friday evenings.
- Strength and conditioning
- Weight lifting and strength training are available on request, and the weight room is included for unlimited members. How that works.

Frequently asked questions
Which class is right for my child?+
Children aged 6 to 12 train in the kids classes, and 13 to 16 in the teen classes. Adults are 17 and up. Call (718) 645-2402 if you are unsure and we will tell you which class suits you.
What styles are taught here?+
Traditional U.S.A. Goju karate as Grandmaster Peter G. Urban taught it, plus self-defense, Aiki JuJutsu, wrestling, grappling and MMA. Private instruction and strength training are available on request.
Do you teach self-defense for women?+
Yes. Self-defense for women and private sessions are both offered. Call for details.
